It seems GECs have decided to follow the new trend of second seasons of their popular shows. While Star Plus launched ‘Saath Nibhaana Saathiya 2’ in October 2020, Colors channel is all set to introduce ‘Sasural Simar Ka 2’. The makers have already shared a new promo featuring the original Simar aka Dipika Kakar.

The promo has created a lot of buzz on social media as Dipika has promised to introduce a new character. The show ran for close to seven years on the small screen and dominated the TRP charts.

If a recent report in an entertainment portal is to be believed, Colors is planning to come up with the second season of another popular show. We are talking about ‘Balika Vadhu’. Yes, you read that right!

Work for the second season of ‘Balika Vadhu’ has already started and the makers have approved an interesting storyline, the report in IWMBuzz said.

‘Balika Vadhu’ became the first Hindi daily soap to complete 2000 episodes. It created several records, emerging as the one of most popular shows in the last decade. The show went off air after a glorious run of eight long years.

It featured Avika Gor and Avinash Mukherjee as Anandi and Jagya respectively. Pratyusha Banerjee and Shashank Vyas entered the show post the first generation leap.

Toral Rasputra stepped into Pratyusha’s shoes after she quit the show in 2013. ‘Bigg Boss 13’ winner Sidharth Shukla became a household name after playing the role of Shiv in the social drama.

‘Balika Vadhu’ paved the way for several social-themed based shows on the small screen. The show also featured veteran actress Surekha Sikri, Anup Soni, Smita Bansal, Sriti Jha, Sargun Mehta and Neha Marda in key roles.

Talking about ‘Sasural Simar Ka 2’, the show will feature Avinash Mukherji, Tanya Sharma and Jayati Bhatia in key roles. The upcoming daily soap will reportedly air for one hour.
