New Delhi: This year’s Independence Day is significant because India is honouring and celebrating 75 years of advanced India and the rich history of its culture, people, and accomplishments as part of the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” campaign, which was started by the Indian government.

Here are some songs full of the patriotic fervour that you can listen to on this Independence Day to celebrate 76 years of Indian Independence and cherish the legacy of our freedom fighters: 

Aisa Des Hai Mera: An exquisite song from the film “Veer Zara” inspires a love for your nation, its rich history, and the ways in which its many cultures are interconnected (invokes the feeling of one-ness).

Ae Mere Wattan Ke Logo: An all-time favourite patriotic song. Hindi author Kavi Pradeep, composer C. Ramchandra, and legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar collaborated on this song. The song honours Indian soldiers who lost their lives in the 1962 Sino-Indian War. Lata Ji’s voice in this song leaves every Indian mesmerised. 

Bharat Humko Jaan Se Pyara Hai: Hindi song, Bharat Humko Jaan Se Pyara Hai whose lyrics are performed by Hariharan from the Mani Ratnam-directed film Roja (1992). This song’s lyrics were written by P. K. Mishra, and A.R. Rahman created the music. Featuring Madhoo and Arvind Swami.

Yeh Desh Hai Veer Jawano Ka: This song needs no introduction. Sing along to the lyrics of the Naya Daur album’s Yeh Desh Hai Veer Jawanon Ka Song. Famous singer Balbir, Mohammed Rafi, provided the voice for this song. Sahir Ludhianvi wrote the song’s lyrics.

Tu Bhula Jise: KK left the world in shock with his sudden demise. This song sung by KK, Tu Bhula Jise from the movie Airlift, not just fills the heart with patriotism it hits different now, to listen to a favourite song on a special occasion and remember a singer everyone liked. 

Maa Tujhe Salaam (Vande Mataram): A studio album by A R Rahman. It is Sony Music India’’s largest-selling non-film album to date. It was released on the Golden Jubilee of India’s independence and has played a significant role in fostering a sense of national pride and cohesion among Indians.  Since its debut, the album and its title song, “Maa Tujhe Salaam,” have both had a profoundly uplifting and unifying effect on the nation’s patriotism.

I Love My India: An Indian patriotic song from the movie, ‘Pardes’. Hariharan, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Shankar Mahadevan, and Aditya Narayan all contribute to the singing of this song. Anand Bakshi wrote the lyrics, and Nadeem-Shravan composed the music. Mahima Chaudhry, Amrish Puri, Apoorva Agnihotri, and Shahrukh Khan are featured in the movie and song.

Ye Jo Desh Hai Tera: Ye Jo Desh Hai Tera song is from the movie Swadesh (2004) staring Shahrukh Khan and Gayatri Joshi. This song is sung and composed by A. R. Rahman. The lyrics of the song are written by Javed Akhtar.

Mera Rang De Basanti Chola: This song is trending since Punjab’s Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s oath-taking ceremony. Mera Rang De Basanti Chola with its lyrics in Hindi is from the movie ‘The Legend of Bhagat Singh(2002)’. The song is sung by Sonu Nigam and Manmohan Waris. Lyrics penned by Sameer. Music composed by A. R. Rahman. Starring Ajay Devgan, Sushant Singh, D. Santosh. Music label Tips Music.

Mere Desh Ki Dharti: One of the most well-known patriotic Hindi songs of all times from the Hindi movie ‘Upkar (1967)’. The song’s music was created by Kalyanji-Anandji, and its lyrics were penned by Gulshan Kumar Mehta. Playback singing was done by Mahendra Kapoor. This is a patriotic song and was picturised on Manoj Kumar in the film. The song earned Kumar the nickname Mr. Bharat.

Teri Mitti: Manoj Muntashir wrote the song, Arko Pravo Mukherjee composed it, and B Praak sang it. It was published in March 2019 and included in the soundtrack of the Hindi movie ‘Kesari’, starring Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra, who later performed the song in the female voice. The song was intended to capture a dying soldier’s final thoughts in the movie’s climactic moment.

Kandho Se Milte Hai Kandhe: Kandhon Se Milte Hain Kandhe Hindi lyrics from the movie ‘Lakshya’ written by Javed Akhtar, music is composed by Shankar Eshaan Loy and sung by Shankar Mahadevan, Sonu Nigam, Hariharan, Roop Kumar Rathod, Kunal Ganjawala, Vijay Prakash. Starring Preity Zinta, Hrithik Roshan, Sharad Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Aditya Srivastava, Om Puri, and Boman Irani.

Ae Watan: Many commentators hailed the song for “delivering patriotism”. According to Gulzar, Ae Watan from Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal starrer ‘Raazi’, deserves to become “the anthem of our nation.” Arijit Singh and Sunidhi Chauhan are the singers of the song. The lyrics were written by Gulzar and Allama Iqbal, and Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy composed the music.
