West Bengal WBCHSE HS 12th Result 2021 LATEST Updates: The West Bengal class 12 results examination have been declared by the board today, on Thursday, 22 July. The pass percentage this year is 97.69%. Around 8.5 lakh students appeared for the examination, out of which 3,19,327 students got the first division.
The pass percentage for different streams are Arts 97.39%, Science 99.28% and Commerce 99.8%. The name of the topper has not been revealed. The Board President while announcing the results declared that the topper was a Muslim girl from Murshidabad who has scored 499 marks out of 500.
The results have been declared through a press conference at 3 pm and will be uploaded on the official website by 4 pm.
The West Bengal Council for Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) has cancelled the examination this year due to the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. The state has asked for the opinion of the public on whether or not it should conduct the exams. As many as 83 percent respondents asked the state to not hold board exams this year.
Therefore, the marks have been calculated on the basis of alternative evaluation criteria. Marks scored in classes 10 and 11 along with the score in internal assessments of class 12 were taken into consideration to calculate the final results.
Students, who are waiting for their results, will be able to check their scores by visiting the official websites wbchse.nic.in and wbresults.nic.in. There are other unofficial websites too, including https://www.exametc.com/.
Steps to check results at wbresults.nic.in
1. Visit wbresults.nic.in.
2. Click on the link stating the WBCHSE Result 2021.
3. Enter your credentials.
4. Click on the ‘Submit’ button.
5. Your result will be displayed on the screen
The higher secondary results can also be accessed by students via SMS and the WBCHSE Results 2021 app. This app is easily available on Google Play Store from where candidates can download it. Moreover, for SMS results, students need to type WB12 <space> registration number and send the SMS to 56070, 5676750, or 56263.
“All the Heads of Higher Secondary Institutions or their authorised representatives are requested to collect HS mark-sheets and other relevant documents from their respective Distribution Camps from 11.00 a.m. onwards on 23/07/2021,” WBCHSE said in a statement.
Further in the statement, the council informed that mark sheets and other relevant documents can be issued to concerned guardians or candidates by maintaining proper protocol and social distancing.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the West Bengal government had earlier cancelled both Madhyamik (Class 10) and Uchchatar Madhyamik (Class 12) exams.
After a few weeks, the two boards came up with an alternative assessment criterion for their students. They informed that the board will evaluate Class 12 students by using the 40:60 formula. In this scheme, 40 percent weightage will be given to the best of four subjects that were held in 2019 and 60 percent to the annual Class 11 theory exams held in 2020.
